Welcome to Lewis Class
This term is already proving to be a positive and fantastic one. I am delighted to welcome so many enthusiastic and polite children in my class. We aim to be the best ever year 6 class and we are well on our way to proving it. We have begun our unit on ‘Can the World be Everyone’s Oyster?’ and are thinking about what it must be like as a refugee. So far we have had some thoughtful discussions. We have written a diary entry, from the point of view of the main character, and a descriptive passage about a trip to London. We are in the process of making African masks using papier mache. These have been modelled on masks we looked at and they will be decorated in the same style. Some of us are quite adventurous in the design in we’ll need to think carefully how to achieve the desired effect. I am looking forward to our residential the first week after half term where we will participate in challenges and activities that are not available to us at school. I will remember my warm clothes since I anticipate it will be cold at that time of year.
