Welcome to Winchester!
Wonderful Winchester class have settled really well into their new classroom and Year group. There are 27 fabulous children in our class, each of us with our individual characteristics and personalities which make us great as a team!
Our teacher is called Miss Morgan. She is also the Head of Year for Year 4.
We have settled into Year 4 well, and are busy learning lots of new skills.
Every Monday, we have Violin lessons – it can get very noisy but is great fun!
We enjoy keeping active in Winchester – we have PE lessons twice a week, with our teacher and with PECS education. This term we are developing our skills in football, netball, hockey and tag rugby.
As part of our project, ‘How do I see myself?’ this half term, we are reading a brilliant book called ‘Giant’ by the author Kate Scott. This project includes writing a short autobiography of our lives, as well as designing and making a small soft toy. They will look brilliant when they’re finished!
We are busy reviewing the Year 3/4 statutory spelling words and remembering the strategies we developed in Year 3 to remember them.
Our times tables focus this half term is focused on recalling the 3, 4 and 8 times tables, then learning our 6 times tables. These can be tricky, but using our knowledge of the 3 times tables will help us with this!
We are learning French this term too – Est-ce que tu parles Français?
We have lots to look forward to as the term progresses – watch this space for more updates from Winchester! Au revoir!
